From the 14th to the 15th of March 2013, we.CONECT invited an international audience of global Executives, Managing Directors, Head of’s and Managers from the energy & asset intensive industries and responsible for departments such as Operation and Production, Manufacturing, Environmental Technology and Facility Management to the second annual ener.CON Europe conference in Berlin.
More than 100 attendees gathered at the ener.CON Europe 2013 to discuss current challenges, brand new approaches and future trends in the field of energy efficiency. Participants, speakers and business partners joined in on one of the biggest international conferences on this topic and had the opportunity to exchange experiences, widen their network and debate upcoming challenges.
The ener.CON Europe 2013 therefore has become one of the leading conferences in the field of energy efficiency, energy savings in plants & facilities for asset & energy intensive industries.
More than 100 participants from over 80 companies from all over Europe discussed about future challenges, latest approaches and future progresses in the context of energy efficiency and energy savings.

Icebreaker Session ‒ First get-together before the conference
On the evening of the first conference day, the icebreaker session provided a first opportunity to network, benchmark and discuss, while allowing the participants to get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere at the Maritim ProArte Hotel in Berlin.
More than 25 presentations and keynotes
Inspiring discussions and presentations regarding the core issues of the conference, including intelligent energy management, energy savings by production management, global corporate approaches to energy efficiency and sustainable energy management, fulfilled the expectations of the participants to a maximum.
Throughout the three days of the conference, the topics of focus played an important role in the agenda. Field reports, panel discussions, as well as case studies were presented. The exchange of ideas between participants, speakers and business partners was animated and encouraged through different kinds of sessions (eg. World Cafés, Challenge Your Peers Roundtables). The conference aimed at turning the participants into active debating members, rather than passive listeners and this goal was notedly achieved.

Challenge your Peers Session – Participants discussing about encountered difficulties and possible solutions
In addition to the outstanding speeches of the event, we.CONECT strived to achieve more. This is why we asked each participant ahead of time for further topics, questions and issues to be raised. According to the gathered answers, we created innovative and exciting “Challenge Your Peers” roundtables. Each table came to deal with important matters, for which participants had shown interest, and discussions lasted for most of the second-day afternoon.

In retrospect, the ener.CON Europe 2013 featured a very interesting, diversified and highly interactive networking platform for leading Managers in the field of energy efficiency from all over the world.
